I’m Sharon Hill, a freelance writer /author, former newspaper advertising manager, former writer/analyst for a media consultancy, and current sales and marketing manager for a newspaper trade association. I work out of my home office in Surprise Arizona. I have one son 26, a former navy aviations technician, who is now living in Glendale AZ and attending DeVry University for network administration.
The book I co-authored is “Implementing and Managing Telework: a Guide for Those who Make it Happen,” published by Praeger Press. My co-author, Bill Fenson, is former President of the National Employment Counseling Association. My newspaper career included the Anchorage Times, Sacramento Bee, The Herald in Rock Hill SC, the Chapel Hill News in NC, Topics Newspapers in Indianapolis, and The Employment Weekly, also in metro Indy. I worked for major dailies, small weeklies, both free and paid.
For Classified Intelligence, LLC, I wrote about newspapers and newspaper vendors - about their struggles and their evolution. For 3 1/2 years I wrote the Classified Intelligence Case Studies newsletter, which each month focused on a product or idea, often with the help of an industry vendor, that helped newspapers help their advertisers and their community. I am currently sales & marketing manager for Suburban Newspapers of America, a trade association of 2400 suburban and community newspapers in the U.S. and Canada.
